Give-a-DaysEach year, the Colorado Chapter of the ICC gives back to the community by helping with various projects around Colorado. Here's some information about these projects:
Girl Scout Camp Lazy Acres - Rye, CO - June 11th, 2011Since 2001, the primary resource for improvements at Lazy Acres has been the Colorado Chapter of the International Code. The efforts of the ICC, through their “Give-a-day” program, have been invaluable to the Girl Scouts of Colorado. Many goals have been accomplished at the Lazy Acres Girl Scouts camp as a result of countless volunteer hours from the Colorado Chapter of the I.C.C. membership and generous contributions from numerous private business throughout Pueblo and the Chapter. New cabins have been built and there has been some much needed maintenance and upgrades on the existing buildings to further enhance the girl’s enjoyment of the camp facility’s for many years to come. So join us once again on Saturday June 11th, 2011 in the picturesque San Isabel National Forest as we plan to rebuild a deck and repair guardrails and stairs throughout the camp.Last year we had a great turnout and enjoyed beautiful weather, plenty of rewarding tasks, an abundance of laughter and comradarie and a great bar-b-que with plenty of girl scout cookies. We will meet at the Lazy Acres Campground at 8:00 a.m. there will be camping available if anybody is interested in coming the night before. This year’s Give a day is also in conjuction with the Pueblo’s Riverwalk Boats, Blues & Bar-b-que the premiere summer event on the Riverwalk. With great food, live music and a festival-type atmosphere Friday and Saturday evening. So bring your hammer, drills and tools for a fun filled rewarding day! Directions: Take I-25 south from Pueblo approximately 23 miles to the Colorado City/Rye exit #74. Head west on Co 165 past Rye approximately 8 miles. Look for the CCICC signs on the right side of the road. The Columbine Girl Scouts camp is approximately 1 mile past YMCA Camp Jackson. Here you can see some of the crew at work last year

WOW July 17th, 2010This year, we'll be replacing sections of the Boardwalk. Show off your deck building skills and help out a great cause!Grant's Pass. W.O.W. is located on U.S. 285, sixty miles southwest of Denver or 3.8 miles west of Grant, Colorado. From Colorado Springs, U.S. 285 may be reached through Woodland Park and Deckers via Highways 24, 67, and 126 to Pine Junction. W.O.W. is 20 miles west of Pine Junction. Watch for sign on south side of highway. |
